The Reigate & Banstead Business Awards are back – and bigger and better than ever!
Nominations are now officially open for the awards, which will once again celebrate the achievements of businesses in our local community.
Over 20 businesses – as well as broadcaster Nicholas Owen – attended this morning’s press launch to kick-start the nomination process. Local charity George and The Giant Pledge were also handed a giant cheque for £1,745.29 – the amount raised for them at last year’s business awards (see picture, right).
With 10 award categories this year, there are plenty of opportunities for businesses of all sizes and types in the borough to enter. New for 2020 are the Apprentice of the Year, High Street Hero and Sustainable Business of the Year awards.
Sponsors this year include East Surrey College, Morrisons Solicitors and Regus. The Barclays team has agreed to support the awards by offering a business support package to all of this year’s winners, providing valuable advice for anyone in industry.
Connick Tree Care, who won the first Customer Service award, said: “Entering the Reigate & Banstead Business Awards last year was great for employee motivation and marketing opportunities. Plus, winning the award was a huge benefit when describing our business to potential clients.”
Executive Member for Business and Economy, Councillor Eddy Humphreys said: “I’m so pleased that the Reigate & Banstead Business Awards are back for a second year. It was great to see so many local businesses get involved in 2019 and we hope that even more do this year.
“Whether you are a micro business or have 300-plus employees, we want to hear from you. It’s easy – and free – to apply so don’t miss this opportunity to get involved and gain some well-deserved recognition for all your hard work.”
The awards ceremony – once again hosted by Nicholas Owen – will take place on Thursday 4 June at Reigate Manor. With a wide range of businesses tipped to attend, the event will be a valuable networking opportunity for all.
