'Discover World War I with Reigate & Banstead' is a fascinating, free, interactive family event as part of Reigate & Banstead Borough Council’s First World War centenary commemorations.
Come along to the Regent Hall in Horley on Saturday 14 October between 2 and 4pm to see military artefacts from Surrey Infantry Museum, bring along your own wartime heirlooms to find out more about them and learn about the borough and its residents' role in the conflict through displays and activities.
There will be free face painting, children’s activities and vintage afternoon tea and cakes on sale.

At 3pm, military historian Ian Chatfield, curator of Surrey Infantry Museum, will be giving a talk about the key events of 1917, including the infamous Battle of Passchendaele.
Horley History Society will be on hand to help get you discover what part your family may have played in the Great War.
