1. About planning enforcement
A wide range of planning regulations apply to development and building work in Reigate & Banstead and many types of work require planning permission.
We have a planning enforcement team which are committed to protecting the character of the Borough. The team concentrates on breaches of planning control and unauthorised development, from small scale building work erected without the required permission to planning breaches on major developments. We also deal with unauthorised changes of use, whether for domestic premises, office, retail or any other kind.
You can play your part in helping us protect the character of the area, by reporting suspected planning breaches when you become aware of them.
