Wellbeing and counselling support
Life can sometimes seem hectic and juggling work with our personal lives and family responsibilities can be difficult. From time to time, we can all benefit from some extra support.
The Council’s Employee Assistance Programme provides an independent, free, and confidential information, advice, and support service, and is available to all staff and their immediate family.
Whether you’re after practical advice or emotional support with either work or personal issues, it can offer expert guidance.

Key features include:
- 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year contact and advice line (Freephone)
- advice and signposting to services which can help with financial issues, debt and legal support
- advice and help with issues in work or personal relationships, bereavement, stress and depression
- option of direct counselling support - typically up to six one-to-one sessions with a counsellor
The service also includes access to a self-help website, Ele (Ellie) (reigate-Banstead.elewellbeing.co.uk), a digital one-stop shop to support your health and wellbeing, providing accessible and personalised support 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Charitable Giving
Through a Charitable Giving scheme the Council offers staff the option of donating to charity in a simple and tax-efficient way.
You can choose to pay a regular amount every month to the charity or charities of your choice.
This sum will be deducted from your gross (i.e. pre-tax) salary. For basic-rate taxpayers, this means every £10 you donate will reduce your take home pay by just £8.00. The difference is even greater for higher-rate taxpayers. To start the process, please visit:
