Arts takeover

The first Arts Takeover burst onto the Redhill creative scene in October 2023 as part of our long-term strategy to enhance people's quality of life by boosting physical and mental wellbeing.

The week-long festival of the arts aims to provide low cost or free performances and opportunities for people to be creative and try something new. 

Arts Takeover 2024

The week-long festival returned in 2024 with more artist performances to watch and more creative activities to take part in. 

There were workshops available in comedy writing to poetry to learning DJ skills, as well as the traditional art, pottery and photography sessions. There were also performances to enjoy throughout the week around the town centre.

For 2024, we were particularly excited to host DAiSY – the association for disabled artists, with a gigantic and immersive exhibition in the Belfry Shopping centre.
