Great British Spring Clean

Keep Britain Tidy’s annual campaign for nationwide litter picking takes place from 21 March to 6 April. We’re encouraging people to join or organise a community litter pick and pledge how many bags they will collect on the Keep Britain Tidy website.

We’ll support your litter pick by providing equipment and organising collection of your purple rubbish bags when you’ve finished (see details below).

Tell us in advance about your community litter pick and we’ll add the details to this page so others can join you.

Litter picking equipment collection

Litter picking equipment, including purple waste sacks will be available for collection from the following locations at the times given. No prior arrangement is required for collection.

• Town Hall Reception, Castlefield Road, Reigate, RH2 0SH. Collection Monday to Thursday between 9am and 5pm; Fridays between 9am and 4:45pm
• Banstead Community Centre, The Horseshoe, Bolters Lane, Banstead ,SM7 2BQ. Collection on Mondays between 9am and 4pm
• Horley Community Centre, Albert Road, Horley, RH6 7JA. Collection on Fridays between 9am and 4pm
• Merstham Community Hub, 2B Portland Drive, Merstham, RH1 3HY. Collection Monday to Thursday between 10am and 2pm; Fridays between 10am and 12pm
• Tattenhams Community Library, Tattenham Crescent, Epsom Downs KT18 5NU. Collection Monday to Wednesday between 10am and 1pm; Thursdays between 10am and 4pm; Fridays between 10am and 5pm; and Saturdays between 10am and 4pm
• Woodhatch Community Centre, Whitebeam Dr, Reigate RH2 7LS. Collection on Thursdays between 9am and 4pm

Litter picking safely

Volunteers should read the Health and safety guide for volunteer and community litter picking webpage before collecting litter picking equipment. This webpage will also be available as a document at all collection locations and does not require a signature. 

Arranging collection of waste bags

The Cleansing Team will collect the litter pickup that is in the purple waste sacks provided.

To arrange collection you should notify the Cleansing Team of the location and number of filled sacks by email: cleansing@reigate-banstead.gov.uk.

Please do not let us know on social media as this can delay the collection.
