Civic Remembrance events 2024
Remembrance Sunday, which falls on Sunday 10 November 2024, is a national opportunity to remember the service and sacrifice of all those who have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life.
We remember the Armed Forces, and their families, from Britain and the Commonwealth, the vital role played by the emergency services and those who have lost their lives as a result of conflict or terrorism.
Armistice Day on Monday 11 November 2024 commemorates the signing of the Armistice which brought an end to the First World War and remembers all those who gave their lives in service to their country since 1914.
The Remembrance Sunday Civic events being held in the borough are at:
- Shaw's Corner War Memorial, Redhill
- Banstead War Memorial
- Horley War Memorial gardens
- Armistice Day services attended by Reigate & Banstead Council
On the evening of Sunday 10 November and Monday 11 November the Town Hall will be lit up to commemorate Remembrance Day and Armistice Day.
Friday 22 November - Charity Race Night
Time: Doors Open at 6.30pm, first race at 7.15pm
Location: Town Hall, Castlefield Road, Reigate, RH2 0SH
Fundraiser in aid of the Mayor’s Charities. Tickets are £5 per person.

Thursday 8 May 2025 - VE-Day 80
Celebration to mark the 80th Anniversary of VE Day which marked the end of WW2 in Europe.
The commemoration will include beacon lighting in Priory Park Reigate, part of a national chain of beacon lightings and a special commemorative VE-Day 80 flag to fly at the Town Hall.
